Chapter 153: No One Can Escape
In the space outside Camp Star, a space battle is erupting.
Six warships are encircling one, the Mandala Star Sword did not choose to retreat directly. Instead, while retreating it launched an attack, firing five Vortex Laser Cannons at five warships, lighting up the space with brilliant laser beams.
In the main ship's control room on Camp Star, Commander Nolan couldn't quite figure out what the other side's intention was. If it was just a strategic ploy to attract the Star System Alliance, why engage in combat with them?
The attack range of the Mandala Star Sword is particularly long, and the Vortex Laser can be incredibly powerful. Two of their warships were hit, their shields directly breached, while the opponent endured several attacks with their shields remaining intact.
"Catch up and destroy it," a cold gleam flashed in Commander Nolan's eyes. Since they didn't retreat, they should be destroyed.
"Buzz…" Six massive warships chased after the Sword Battleship in space, getting further and further from Camp Star.
"General Nolan, be careful of enemies ambushing us," the adjutant reminded.
"From what I've observed, Mandala Star has never employed such strategic measures in previous wars," General Nolan expressed with some confidence in his eyes.
"General Nolan, please pay attention to the distance. The outer sensors have been completely destroyed by the enemy and cannot continue to monitor. Please cease the pursuit," came the voice from ground command, ordering him to stop the pursuit, which made Nolan somewhat displeased.
"Order received." Though displeased, Nolan decided to retreat. Although this doesn't fit Mandala Star's combat style, the battlefield changes rapidly, and anything is possible.
Previously, the Sword had cleared the detectors on the periphery, creating a vacuum in this area, and their warships were relying only on their own detectors for reconnaissance. If the opponent had powerful stealth technology, the detectors would also struggle to detect them, so the Mandala Star's trickery had to be guarded against.
"Whoosh…"
Just as Nolan was replying and preparing to retreat, the signal was jammed.
"What's happening?" Nolan frowned.
"The signal is being blocked, we have lost contact with the ground," the controller responded. Nolan's face immediately turned ashen, as he seemed to sense a whiff of conspiracy.
"There's a fleet, we have walked into an ambush," came a cry of alarm, and then the piercing sound of alarms blared. On the screen, another thirteen warships appeared, forming a majestic fleet, encircling them in this starry sky.
Nolan's face turned instantly pale. They fell for it; Mandala Star actually used such a tactic.
"It's not Mandala Star's fleet; it bears the Black God Fleet's insignia."
They saw on the warships a skull engraved, with a sword inserted into the skull, which was the mark of the Black God Fleet.
"How could it possibly be the Black God Fleet," Nolan's tone was shocked and discolored. He knew some of the inside story: last time, they cooperated with the Black God Fleet to form an alliance to attack Byron Star, but it failed, and the entire fleet disappeared. Later, when they saw the Mandala Star Fleet also defeated, they understood the alliance had been betrayed.
"The other side is requesting communication."
"Accept," Nolan's face was grim.
A figure appeared on the screen.
"I am Wood of the Black God Fleet." Wood stood in front of the screen.
"Wood!" Nolan stared at the figure on the opposite side and said, "What do you mean?"
"Surrender or be destroyed?" Wood ignored the other's words and instead asked coldly.
Nolan still hadn't figured out what exactly was happening at the moment. Suddenly, he thought of a possibility, and his face instantly turned pale.
Last time, the Mandala Star Fleet invaded Byron Star and eventually collapsed. One of Mandala's main ships became a spoil of war for Byron Star. Before this, if their allied fleet with the Black God Fleet was also captured...
Then this fleet… neither belonged to Mandala Star nor to the Black God Fleet.
If that were the case, would it be under Byron Star's command?
"Did you surrender to Byron Star?" Galan's eyes were extremely cold as he stared at Wood and asked, "Who is your commander?"
At this moment, a young and handsome face appeared next to Wood. He looked at the screen and said, "I am Xu Mo, and I give you three seconds to decide: surrender or be destroyed?"
The Mandala Star Sword and the surrounding thirteen warships were already charging up, as if awaiting Xu Mo's command to fire. Fourteen warships would fire simultaneously.
Fourteen against six, and the opponent also had a Sword Battleship. Clearly, this battle had no suspense. If they fought, they would be completely routed.
"What is your purpose?" Nolan asked.
"Fire."
The response to Nolan was a cold voice; as soon as Xu Mo's words fell, fourteen warships fired at once, targeting two of the warships.
"Boom!"
Gorgeous flames erupted in space as two warships were attacked by fourteen. How could they withstand it? Their shields were instantly destroyed, and the warships collapsed, being directly obliterated.
"Surrender or be destroyed?" Xu Mo repeated in the same icy voice, like a machine, devoid of any emotion.
Nolan was bloodless, watching the two warships explode in space, his heart sinking into endless darkness. In the face of absolute power, they had no ability to resist.
If they didn't surrender, it meant death.
"Surrender," Nolan's voice sounded extremely heavy. For a general, surrender was obviously a shame, but when he saw the other party's lineup, he already understood that this battle's target was not just their six warships in space, but the entire Camp Star.
