The Super Lazy System

Chapter 8: The First Hunt Begins

"Then come, let's finish this."

Hikaru declared in a defiant tone, masking his nervousness as he faced the grotesque creature.

Lacking combat experience, he relied on what he knew from games. Raising his hand, he focused his magic.

"Radiant Explosion!"

A blinding light engulfed the dark alley, dazzling the stray devil and burning its shadowy flesh.

"Ugh!" The creature cried out in pain. "You'll pay for this, insolent wretch!"

When the blinding effect faded, the monster scanned the area, but Hikaru was nowhere to be seen.

"Ran away? Coward." It growled, unaware of the impending disaster.

"Light Spear!"

Hikaru, now positioned strategically, conjured luminous spears that shot forward with precision, piercing the monster's massive body. Screams echoed as it collapsed to the ground, defeated.

"Big targets are the best," Hikaru murmured, pleased with his accuracy.

On the ground, the stray devil groaned in agony, unable to fight back. With difficulty, it muttered:

"Just kill me already..."

Hikaru hesitated. Despite the danger, the idea of taking a life weighed heavily on him.

"Don't worry," he said firmly. "I won't run away from this."

Shaping his magic into a glowing sword, Hikaru stepped forward.

"Thank you. Your death won't be in vain. Because of you, I'll grow stronger."

With a precise strike, he decapitated the monster. Its body fell limp as its head rolled onto the ground.

Though he acted with resolve, Hikaru felt the weight of what he had done.

"I'll mourn later..." he muttered, trying to push away the dark thoughts.

The system's calm voice resonated in his mind:

[Host, your action was necessary. Think of the lives you've saved today. Your strength will protect many more in the future.]

The words gave Hikaru a measure of comfort. Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself.

"Alright... Let's move on to the next one."

Now, with firm steps and a resolute mind, Hikaru set off for his next battle, more determined than ever.
