The Tycoon Inheritance

She subconsciously tightened her hold on his hand as they walked along the lighted path towards the lake. The half-hour drive to the villa district left her in a surreal daze. Chen Kai told her so many things that completely shattered her worldview. The fantasy stories they have all read are true!

Other planets in different dimensions with humans who are considered more evolved than themselves.

It was all true and this man lived in those places as different people.

Su Lian was a bit intimidated by this fact and had the instinct to be wary of this person but she couldn't. She realized she was desensitized. Chen Kai did so when he blatantly revealed his identity as a cultivator to her on the first weekend trip they made together. He was also himself, he didn't pretend to be the previous Chen Kai.

The playfully sly side he revealed to her was part of his true nature and the domineering side was also him.

Boldly turning to look at him, she noticed, same as many times before, he was unguarded beside her. The sharp edges he revealed to outsiders were now soft as they walked side by side.

"Kai." She called out softly out of reflex when she wanted to act coquettish with him and on cue he placed all his attention on her. His body spoke volumes. She was the only one who was worthy of his attention.

Those once cold eyes were now warm, filled with pure affection for her. Thanks to the lights on the path she could see the gentleness on his features and that teasing smile she loved to see on his lips.

She was completely enraptured by this man.

He stopped and fully faced her. She made the distance between them disappear and pressed her body intimately against his. His smile became indulgent when he wrapped his arms around her. Their heights were a mere two inches apart, so kissing her forehead and cuddling her comfortably was easy.

"What is it?" he asked warmly.

Su Lian nuzzled her face into his chest, taking in his scent of mixed spices that was compatible with his protective hold of her.

"… His memories. Have you assimilated with all of them?"

"Yes."

"Then his memory of me….."

Chen Kai could follow her train of thought. It would be weird if she didn't ask this or didn't think of it.

"He loved you enough to stand by the side and watch you flourish without interference from him."

Behind her closed eyes, the slight burning sensation was identical to her heart. That Kai genuinely loved her but wanted to escape from this life where he felt alone and incompatible. He's gone now but does this Kai truly love her or was it remnants of….

"I saw why he loved you and I was pleased by his reasons because they are the same as mine."

Su Lian raised her head in disbelief. According to the time he arrived on this star, they only met once and had a bland interaction.

Can love be attained in such a short time?

He laughed at her cute thoughtful expression and kissed her lips lightly. "For a traveler like myself, I know what I want and believe in my instincts. You are the woman I want by my side for this final life of mine. That's why I didn't sever this relationship and acted on it. Unbelievable, right?"

"Yes." She answered truthfully, there was no reason for her to be evasive about it.

Resting his forehead against hers, he rubbed his nose with hers and began to gently sway along with the cool breeze playing around them. His intimate and romantic actions made her heart flutter, beating loudly as she waited for his next words.

Su Lian made a decision earlier and Chen Kai's actions and words made her see how much he's trying to keep her. All she wanted was verbal confirmation from him and he gave her so much more.

He trusted her with his secrets and freely allowed her to enter his home, giving her high authorization also. This man was giving himself too her. He loved her even though the specifics are mind-boggling, the point is that he loved her.

How can she refuse this man?!

"Miss Su. I've waited for a long time and I've shown you everything I have to offer. I want to hear your decision. Please don't keep me waiting." That low compelling voice of his carried a hint of coercion and uncertainty. He wanted to know. Holding her tighter, he gently pressed his lips against hers; tugging, licking, tasting, the once gentle kiss became passionate as the seconds grew. Her soft whimper pleased him. The feel and taste of her pillowy lips were burned in his memory for safekeeping. His hands were on her waist burning her skin through her clothes, creating a symbolic sign of possession of her when he gripped her tighter to have her flush against his body.

"Lian. Please answer me," he begged softly against her kiss-swollen lips.

Su Lian's mind was mush as her only focus was on the man who rendered her weak with a simple kiss. She heard his pleading through her dazed state and answered subconsciously.

"Stay. I want to stay with you."

Honest answers come from relaxed and unguarded minds. Leaving Chen Kai was never an option, only a temporary separation to sort out her thoughts.

Whether it's the past soul or this present soul – she loved Chen Kai.

The next day felt abnormally perfect.

Waking up with her by his side, a sense of peace filled his mind when he got ready for his morning regiment.

She didn't have the well-described princess beauty sleep when he sat beside her; she was adorably curled up under the covers with her hair tightly wrapped leaving only her closed eyes and pert nose visible.

Cute.

He didn't wake her. Knowing she would be there when he returned, his workout started on a strong momentum. He had a whole weekend with her, with no tag-alongs.

Friends who are planning to invite them out: "…."

An hour and a half was timed for his morning workout. When he returned to the main courtyard and passed by the kitchen, he saw the chef preparing a full Cantonese breakfast for the masters of the house. His heart felt sweet by Chef Mu's words.

"We'll have breakfast in the sunroom. Notify us when its completed."

"Yes, young master!"

The old guy was happy to be cooking for a new person, especially so when that person is the mistress of the estate. The chef feels like a proud grandpa watching the young couple tour the estate last night with their surroundings filled with pink bubbles. He can finally do his job as a certified chef than a part-time cook.

Chen Kai returned to his courtyard just in time to see Su Lian waking up when he entered the master bedroom. Her phone was ringing and she was clumsily searching for it on the end table. She successfully answered it but Chen Kai was unsure if she heard the contents of the caller's words. She uttered two words before going back under the covers.

"Busy. Bye."

He chuckled and climbed onto the bed, covering her body with his. "Breakfast would be finished soon. The chef is giving us a full Cantonese breakfast. Don't you want to take a step in your position as madam in a good way?" he teased.

His teasing words and warm voice tickled her ears and her heart. Turning to face him, she was struck by the strong masculinity he was giving off. His hair was pulled back in a hairband with his face lightly coated with sweat, his eyes were bright as he looked at her. It was easy for her to tell that he had a vigorous workout.

Unabashedly she eyed his muscular arms and firm body over her. Her face became heated when the visual of his naked body popped up in her memory.

How was she so lucky to get this fine piece of specimen as her man?! Good Karma! That's what it is.

"Oh!" The quick kiss on her head startled her and made her blush.

"What got you in a daze?"

"You!" she blurted out.

Laughing at her cuteness, he kissed her lips playfully before leaving the bed. Walking away from her, he slowly removed his cut-sleeve t-shirt, revealing the tight back muscles that sent her mind to the Yellow Pages.

"Sigh~ So lucky," she said appreciatively. Each step was powerful and graceful, her man was truly eye-catching.

Chen Kai heard her quiet words from afar and chuckled.

Su Lian on the other hand was rolling from side to side on the large bed. It was so comfortable. The lazy mode kicked in. Putting herself in the most complicated yet comfortable position she reached for her phone to go through the latest gossip through her friends and the old and trusty internet.

When she was peeping at a local's candid photos at an event her phone rang again. This time she was lucid enough to look at the caller ID.

"So it was Lin Fa. She must be bored to be calling so early." She answered the call and put it on speaker so she could continue to browse the news feed.

"What are you doing?" The dull voice of her friend blasted into the room.

"Just woke up, about to take breakfast with Kai."

"Let's go out today. All my chores are done and I'm bored. We can call the others…"Lin Fa began excitedly.

"Pause. This weekend is for my husband!" Su Lian cut her off ruthlessly.

"Tch! Married women really forget the single dogs in their lives"

"Hahaha! Married life is sweeter. You should get on board."

"My youth is still blooming. I will put that off for a few years but someone else may be hitched. Take a guess." Lin Fa commented, ending her last words in a gossipy tone.

"Da Mei."

"…. At least make some random guesses to get the right atmosphere."

Chen Kai returned to the room with the sound of Su Lian's gloating laughter and Lin Fa's disgruntled voice.

Su Lian looked at him with bright smiling eyes as she spoke with Lin Fa. The main talk was the budding relationship between Da Mei and Qin Yi. He mouthed the words 'sun room' before leaving the room for her girl talk.

Her eyes never left his body; even in a simple shorts and tshirt he looked worthy of dazed females.

"Fa, incoming noise, I'm heading in the shower." She made a detour to the closet and noticed the unoccupied closet space on an opposite wall. A vanity with a three sided lit mirror was surrounded by shelves of different sizes in length and width. There were two moving shoe racks and drawers to house jewelry.

On the parallel wall were Kai's clothing, all neatly packed and all were seasonal and in colors he preferred.

Back on the empty was her weekend bag but it was unpacked, according to the type of clothing.

Clarity struck.

"Lin Fa. I have acquired space," she said solemnly.

Her friend was caught off guard for a second before she figured it out. Fake crying and overly enthusiastic cheers blasted from the phone.

"Congratulations one step closer to being the madam of the house." Lin Fa cheered.

"… I'm already identified as one."

"Sigh. Can't Brother Chen do things in order? Tell me when you guys have your first child. I have a feeling that won't be so far off."
