Tohka Yatogami's: Marvel Journey

Chapter 19: Not Eating It

"My goodness, can't you just stay still for a moment?" Hogan felt extremely unlucky to be stuck with Tohka.

Recently, Tohka had been causing all sorts of commotion, running around all day. She had practically eaten through all the delicacies in the city, which was a bit of a headache for Hogan.

After all, as a chubby guy, how could his stamina compare to Tohka's? He felt he didn't even need to diet anymore; just running around with her had caused him to lose a few pounds.

Of course, there were quite a few little episodes along the way.

"Hey, miss, your burger was really good." Looking at her now-empty hands, Tohka clearly remembered pulling out her last burger from the bag earlier, but it had disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Then, she heard an extremely cheeky voice in her ear, grabbing her attention.

"Miss, I am a versatile mercenary. As long as you pay me, I can do anything—be it killing, arson, stealing, smashing, looting, or burning."

"I can even help old ladies cross the street. And by the way, if you pay me enough, I can even take care of Cang-sensei for you. You know, that guy's always stirring up trouble, procrastinating updates (go to hell, when have I ever been late?)."

"Making us do all sorts of things without a pay raise—basically, a very crazy guy..."

"....."

Following the voice, Tohka saw a guy sitting not far away, wearing a black-and-red bodysuit, with dual swords on his back and a special belt around his waist.

Tohka, who initially planned to slash this guy immediately, was suddenly overwhelmed by a torrent of endless chatter.

She was utterly speechless; it was the first time she had encountered someone so incessantly talkative.

However, there was no way Tohka would let the theft of her food slide, so she instantly drew her massive sword.

Luckily, there was no one else around except the two of them—Hogan, the chubby driver, had long since been left behind.

"Oh dear, miss, you're pretty impressive. And this sword of yours has such peculiar material—it's clearly not made of adamantium, yet it's unusually tough. It's so rare to meet a good client; I can't let this chance slip away."

"Come on, young lady from the Stark family. I am the most famous mercenary in the industry. As long as you pay, I'll accept any task. Someone like you must have plenty of problems."

"Even if you want me to secretly take private photos of your rival, I can do it. I guarantee no one will find out it was you. Even if I get caught, I won't tell anyone—trust me..."

"......"

Watching him jump down from the roof and walk toward her, he even had the nerve to tap on her giant sword before launching into another endless stream of chatter.

This made Tohka fuming with rage, and at this point, she finally remembered who this guy was.

So, without hesitation, Tohka gripped her giant sword with both hands and swung it like a tennis racket, sending Deadpool flying.

She knew that if she let this guy keep talking, a whole day wouldn't be enough, so she took the simplest and most effective approach.

"Ahhh, this chick's got some punch! I'll be back!"

Satisfied, Tohka watched Deadpool fly off and began pondering where to get her next meal.

She then realized Hogan wasn't by her side and decided to turn around to look for him. But, well, some things...

"Miss, we meet again. I'm really here to market myself. You should know that a professional mercenary like me is hard to come by. My skills are absolutely top-notch, and I can thoughtfully help you solve all kinds of problems..."

Alright, now Tohka finally understood why Deadpool was so unlikable. That mouth of his... no wonder they had to sew it shut in the movies—it was truly unbearable.

However, this time Tohka didn't need to do anything, as his teleportation belt, as always, was utterly unreliable.

At this moment, although he was standing in front of Tohka, he was missing an arm and a leg.

What should have been a tragic and gory scene somehow made Tohka burst out in schadenfreude-laden laughter. She then ignored his nonsensical chatter and walked away.

"Miss, wait for me! Here's my contact info. I guarantee to be at your service anytime—anything you want, as long as you pay."

Watching Tohka leave, Deadpool, due to his missing limbs, couldn't chase after her.

He could only pull a business card out of his pocket and toss it her way, which Tohka casually caught.

"Got it. Goodbye, Mr. Marvelous."

After catching the card, Tohka put it away. She knew this guy was a morally ambiguous figure and might come in handy in the future.

Thus, Tohka didn't throw the card away but couldn't help expressing her disdain for his personality.

"Oh, shit. Blew another deal. Ugh, this hurts so much. Damn rich girl, damn rich people. Whatever, I'll go get drunk instead."

Watching Tohka walk away, Deadpool knew there was no chance of getting any business today.

He could only hop and limp his way toward the street in search of some other way to pass the time.

"Miss, can't you slow down? Have some pity on this chubby body of mine—it's already slimmed down quite a bit."

After parting ways with Deadpool, Tohka saw Hogan, who was sitting there sweating profusely. Clearly, being her sidekick wasn't an easy job.

"Alright, alright, let's go. I ran into a really annoying guy today, but whatever, let's not talk about it."

"It's been a month now; we should head back. Thanks for taking care of me during this time."

"Phew, it's no problem. I'll just think of it as a long vacation and a chance to lose weight."

Hearing Tohka's words, Hogan finally let out a sigh of relief. This past month had been exhausting. When he used to follow Tony Stark around, it was mostly car rides, unlike now where he had to rely solely on his two legs with Tohka.

"Seriously, I thought I might meet a few people, but nope—nothing at all, just that annoying guy popping out in the end."

"Whatever, let's go back. I have a feeling Tony hasn't been having a peaceful time recently."

In fact, Tohka had been running around all this time hoping to encounter a superhero or a supervillain or two.

But unexpectedly, she didn't meet a single superhero and instead came across plenty of pesky nuisances.

Besides, it was almost time for school to start, and she was quite intrigued by American schools.
