Chapter 22: Iron Man 'Tohka'
"She's Tony's adopted daughter, probably kidnapped with him back then. I'm not entirely sure about the details, but that book is indeed written by her—it just wasn't reported. If you look hard enough, you can still find it."
He whispered to Peter sitting next to him. Yesterday, he had asked his father for Tohka's information. After all, there was no harm in getting to know Tohka.
"Why are these guys so enthusiastic? I'm exhausted."
Tohka lay on the desk, listening to the teacher's lecture, feeling a bit down. She never expected to be so popular.
After all the commotion, she was a bit hungry again.
Also, she found Peter's future wife, Mary Jane, in her class.
Well, she couldn't figure out which timeline this was anymore, but anyway, both Mary Jane and Gwen were in the same class.
Due to differences in aesthetics, like with Pepper Potts, Tohka still didn't understand what was so attractive about them, but she wasn't bothered. She really wasn't interested in American beauties.
"Hey, Tohka, want to visit our company? It's Sunday, and I'll invite Parker, Mary Jane, and Gwen to join."
Once again, Harry invited her to OsCorp, along with his friends.
What surprised Tohka was that two people who could've been rivals were getting along so well here, since Harry was Gwen's boyfriend, and Parker seemed to have a secret crush on Mary Jane but hadn't acted on it.
If Tohka didn't know the original story, she wouldn't have noticed.
"Sure, I'm actually quite interested in OsCorp's bioengineering civilization."
It wasn't just talk; she had previously visited Tony's Stark Industries headquarters.
It had to be said that Marvel's advanced tech was legendary. Didn't Hydra use stuff during World War II that was even more advanced and cruel than today's weapons?
As for why Harry invited those people, Tohka didn't think too much about it. However, she understood that he probably invited his good friends to avoid any misunderstandings.
As for Mary Jane, she was clearly giving Peter a chance.
Harry was actually a good guy, treating his friends wholeheartedly.
"Deal, see you at the OsCorp Tower tomorrow."
After hearing Tohka's response, Harry nodded in satisfaction.
This was also instructed by his father, Norman, after all, Tohka's identity was significant.
Although there was no need to suck up, being a friend was definitely better than being an enemy.
Of course, Tohka didn't think about all that. She was simply curious.
In some versions, OsCorp had caused quite a stir, even shooting down a S.H.I.E.L.D.'s airborne aircraft carrier.
The next day, Tohka groggily got out of bed. She had spent the previous night gaming at home and ended up staying up late.
And then...
"Praise New York's traffic."
Seeing that it was almost time for their meeting, but the traffic was still terrible.
At that moment, Tohka really understood Spider-Man's feelings—here, driving wasn't necessary at all.
In fact, traveling by car wasn't necessarily faster than walking.
So, she suddenly remembered the armor Tony had given her.
"This thing is really convenient. No wonder Tony always wears it. I have to admit, this guy's tech is impressive."
With that thought, Tohka reached into her pocket and pulled out a blue-purple remote.
I have to say, the color Tony chose for the armor really suits her style.
She then aimed the scanner at the recognition area.
The remote in her hand instantly transformed, with a layer of armor starting from her hand and moving up her arm, quickly covering her entire body.
Moments later, a female Iron Man in full armor appeared in the room, and Tohka, with the mask on, focused her gaze on the screen in front of her.
"Damn it, Tony's stuff is so complicated. What are all these things?"
Tohka was immediately overwhelmed by the endless data on the screen—it was so confusing it made her want to give up.
She was also a bit embarrassed to realize she didn't know how to use it. Wasn't Rhodey able to use this easily? Could it be that she was really that clueless?
"Miss, I've simplified the operating procedure for you. I'll handle most of the calculations, you just need to follow the instructions."
Clearly, Tohka's muttering was heard by J.A.R.V.I.S. in the armor, who then took the initiative to help her complete the necessary operations.
He also thoughtfully brought up an instruction manual, explaining the basic principles of using the Iron Armor, which helped Tohka out of her awkward situation.
"Let me see... Hmm, I see now. Got it... Let's go."
Now that she understood the process, Tohka dashed out of her apartment and in the blink of an eye was soaring above New York.
"Uh, my window."
At that moment, she realized with some regret that she had completely shattered her window.
"It's all Tony's fault. Spending too much time at his place has made me develop this bad habit of breaking through walls. Never mind, J.A.R.V.I.S., help me find someone to fix the window."
"Understood, Miss."
"Let's go, heading to OsCorp."
After passing the blame onto Tony, Tohka increased her speed to the max and flew toward the distant OsCorp Tower.
Just like Stark Industries, OsCorp also had its own tower, so Tohka didn't need a map to find her destination.
"Do you think Tohka overslept? She hasn't shown up yet."
Below OsCorp Tower, Peter asked Harry uncertainly.
He also checked the time, realizing they only had a few minutes left before the meeting time.
"Well, maybe she's caught up with something..."
After hearing Peter's words, Harry was also uncertain. They had tried calling Tohka, but no one answered, so it was possible she had overslept.
"Look, Iron Man!"
While the two were talking, Mary Jane suddenly pointed and shouted.
Then, the group saw Iron Man, trailing a long stream of flames, flying toward them.
They weren't unfamiliar with this scene—after all, Tony had made his flashy entrance in this armor at a press event not long ago. So, they instinctively assumed that Tohka was Tony.
