Transmigrated Become Sukuna, but the host is Yukinoshita Yukino?

Chapter 122: Chapter 122: Protecting the Happiness of Students Is My Sacred Duty!

After hanging up the phone, Yukinoshita Yukino cast a deep gaze at the black-haired young man sitting on the couch.

"Hayashizaki-kun, you wouldn't do something like investigating this on your own while I'm away at the club camp, would you?"

Hearing Yukinoshita Yukino's suspicion, Hayashizaki couldn't help but laugh.

"Why would you think that?"

"Hmph..."

After a soft scoff, the black-haired girl mumbled quietly,

"Because I'm too weak. For someone like Hayashizaki-kun, I'm undoubtedly just a burden."

"It's fine. By that logic, anyone would be a burden to me," Hayashizaki said with a laugh, waving his hand.

"Relax. I won't sneak off. If it weren't for you asking, I wouldn't even bother investigating in the first place."

"Otherwise, I could just go with you to the camp. That's fine too—if that lab coat-wearing woman agrees, of course."

A glimmer of happiness flashed in Yukinoshita Yukino's eyes. She was about to agree, but then seemed to realize it might not be appropriate and hesitated.

"But Hayashizaki-kun isn't a student of Sobu High. You don't have a valid reason to join..."

"Isn't this a volunteer activity? There's no rule that says only Sobu High students can participate, right?"

Hayashizaki looked puzzled.

"Why don't you ask Hiratsuka Shizuka about it? She might just say yes."

"Alright, I'll ask."

Thinking his point made sense, Yukinoshita Yukino dialed Hiratsuka Shizuka's number again.

This time, the call was answered immediately.

"Hello, Yukinoshita? Is there something else?"

Hiratsuka Shizuka's tone seemed subtly different from before. Yukinoshita Yukino didn't dwell on it and got straight to the point.

"Hiratsuka-sensei, is there any restriction on who can participate in this volunteer activity?"

"Huh? No, there isn't. Why do you ask?"

"I want to bring… a friend. Is that okay?"

"A [friend]?"

On the other end of the phone, Hiratsuka Shizuka narrowed her eyes, her thoughts racing.

"I see. No problem. Just don't be late tomorrow."

"Alright, thank you, Hiratsuka-sensei."

Yukinoshita Yukino quietly let out a sigh of relief.

"You're welcome. It's what I should do!"

For some reason, Hiratsuka Shizuka emphasized the word *should.*

After the call ended, Hiratsuka Shizuka's sharp gaze fixed on a certain spot in the living room, as if someone was standing there. Grinding her teeth, she resembled a lion eyeing its prey.

Even wanting to involve himself in Yukinoshita Yukino's club activity?

It wasn't hard to see—this man had a strong sense of possessiveness.

Daring to appear directly in front of me? Fine. Let me see what kind of person you are and whether you're a worthy partner.

The idea of an arranged marriage partner, likely set up by her family, had already taken root in Hiratsuka Shizuka's mind.

While it might seem intrusive, as a teacher who cared about her students, Hiratsuka Shizuka couldn't stand the thought of one of her students sacrificing something as important as marriage just because of family arrangements.

Coming from a complicated family background herself, Hiratsuka Shizuka could both empathize with and detest the concept of arranged marriages.

The idea of such a fate befalling her student filled her with anger.

In short, she was fired up.

Hiratsuka Shizuka's intentions were firmly rooted in Yukinoshita Yukino's personal happiness, completely unrelated to the gains or losses of her family.

First, she needed to confirm Yukinoshita Yukino's true feelings.

This summer retreat would be the perfect opportunity.

Perhaps she could even call Haruno for advice. Based on what she knew of Haruno, if her sister were facing such a situation, Haruno wouldn't stand idly by.

The previous incident, where Haruno had helped Yukino take time off to go on a supposed "date" with that man, might have been something Haruno did under family pressure. If she knew there was someone else who cared about protecting her sister's happiness, it might relieve some of the pressure on her.

Hiratsuka Shizuka decided to act immediately.

For the sake of her student's happiness, the usual laziness of her solitary life vanished. She picked up her phone and decisively dialed Yukinoshita Haruno's number.

*Buzz... buzz...*

"Hello? Shizuka? What's the occasion for this call?"

Haruno's familiar teasing tone came through the phone.

Hiratsuka Shizuka took a deep breath and paused for two seconds, carefully considering the possible consequences of her actions—including potential conflicts with the Yukinoshita matriarch. After thinking it all through, she cast her concerns aside.

Helping her student—what was there to lose?

"Hello? Shizuka? Is the signal bad?"

Hearing no response, Haruno asked, puzzled.

"It's me, Haruno,"

Hiratsuka Shizuka said seriously.

"Be honest with me. Did the Yukinoshita family arrange a marriage partner for Yukino?"

"…"

There was a long silence on the other end of the call. To Hiratsuka Shizuka, that silence was as good as confirmation.

She then explained everything to Haruno—from her phone call with Yukinoshita Yukino, to hearing a man's voice in the background, and her subsequent deductions—without leaving out a single detail.

"Pfft…"

After listening for a while, Yukinoshita Haruno finally understood what Hiratsuka Shizuka was getting at and couldn't help but let out a laugh.

Luckily, Hiratsuka Shizuka didn't catch it clearly.

"What's so funny?"

"No… nothing… nothing at all..."

Haruno's voice sounded a little strange, like she was holding back something.

What Hiratsuka didn't know was that on the other end of the call, the short-haired girl was trying her hardest not to laugh, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably.

Who would've thought? Shizuka imagining such a dramatic story just from hearing Hayashizaki-kun's voice. She'd never realized Shizuka had such a sense of humor before.

After a while, Haruno finally managed to regain control of her emotions. A sly, fox-like grin appeared on her face.

"Shizuka..."

She sighed, pretending to sound helpless and resigned.

"Just do what you feel is right, Shizuka."

Before Hiratsuka Shizuka could respond, Haruno ended the call.

It wasn't that she was deliberately being cryptic—it was just human nature.

People tend to believe the conclusions they arrive at themselves more than something directly told to them by others.

Let Shizuka keep guessing on her own. Eventually, she'd probably embarrass herself in front of Hayashizaki-kun, and Haruno could look forward to hearing all about it from her new drinking buddy.

A glimmer of mischief sparkled in Yukinoshita Haruno's eyes.
