Chapter 169: The Blood Ravens' Submission and the Protoss Pylon (bouns Chapter)

Two days passed quickly. Osiris slowly awoke. When he regained consciousness, he instantly shot up, tearing away the numerous monitoring devices attached to his body.

He had felt the anesthetic enter his body earlier. As a Librarian, he had even sensed a trace of psychic energy contained within it. But before his Astartes physiology could even begin to break down the anesthetic, he had already lost consciousness. The instincts forged in battle made him immediately assume a combat stance.

The tech-priests had already detected that Osiris was about to awaken, but they hadn't expected such a strong reaction.

"You're awake?"

Lucan, who had been sitting to the side, also stood up.

"What did you do to me? Why did you use an anesthetic containing forbidden technology!"

"What did I do? I fulfilled my agreement with Gabriel, of course. Did you sleep well? I remember that your Blood Ravens have a special mutation; you seem to be in a constant state of insomnia. It's a wonder your bodies can withstand it. Feel your body. Is the psychic overload still there?"

Lucan's words immediately calmed Osiris down.

"It's really gone... By the Emperor, how did you do it!"

Osiris looked at Lucan, his eyes burning with an intense fervor. He desperately wanted to know how Lucan had done it.

"Sorry, that's a Dynasty secret. Gabriel is waiting for you outside!"

When Osiris stood before Gabriel again, Gabriel couldn't believe that Lucan had actually succeeded.

"Osiris! Are you really alright?"

"Chapter Master! The psychic overload is really gone!"

"I will immediately arrange for the Apothecaries and Librarians to conduct a full examination of you!"

Receiving the affirmative answer, Gabriel looked at Lucan. A different idea had already formed in his mind. He had even begun to plan to have his Chapter members steal the technology at all costs. If stealing didn't work, then they would take it by force!

But this thought was quickly dismissed. He could not allow any accidents to happen. If they failed and Lucan destroyed this technology, the loss would be far greater than any gain.

"Lord Lucan, please allow me to conduct a further examination of Osiris first. If there are no problems, I wonder if you would consider selling this technology. The Blood Ravens Chapter is willing to pay any price!"

"Selling is impossible. This technology is not as simple as you think. Even if I gave it to you, you wouldn't be able to use it. However, my Dynasty and I are willing to provide long-term services to the Blood Ravens Chapter."

Gabriel looked at Lucan's smile and knew that the other party intended to hold his Chapter in their grasp for a long time. But knowing this, he had no other choice.

"Lord Lucan, everything must be based on not violating the principles of the Blood Ravens Chapter."

"Of course. I am also a part of the Imperium. When you are needed, your enemies will certainly be those who threaten humanity. And the vast population within my Dynasty can also provide you with many recruits!"

Lucan knew the debt of honor was sealed. As long as the Blood Ravens' gene-seed problem persisted, they would have a continuous need for the Dynasty. And Lucan could also make the Blood Ravens a powerful asset for himself.

The Blood Ravens still had at least four hundred members, including a good number of Librarians. This made their combat effectiveness exceed that of many conventional Chapters. With the Blood Ravens gathered, Lucan already had a use for them. Compared to the Dynasty's soldiers, these Blood Ravens, who had fought against xenos and Chaos for years, were far more experienced in combat than mortals. They also knew how to more effectively strike down those xenos.

Most importantly, there were the Eldar Corsairs who roamed the Expanse. They had arrived here even earlier than humans. When humanity arrived in the Expanse, their conflicts with the Eldar began. Sometimes they would cooperate, but more often, it was raiding. And now, they were carrying out their raids even more thoroughly. Even the Craftworld Eldar had begun to appear on some remote, undeveloped primitive worlds, attacking prospectors.

The pirates were rampantly attacking merchant ships traveling between different star systems and raiding various fringe systems. Although the Dynasty could quickly receive news of the attacks and respond, even warping into the battlefield when necessary, these Dark Eldar, using the Webway, also possessed rapid mobility. The unknown locations of the Webway gates forced the planets of the Expanse to be on the defensive, unable to take the initiative. If they sensed something was wrong, these Dark Eldar would quickly flee back into the Webway.

But being passively beaten was not Lucan's style. He already had a plan in mind. The Zerg, the Protoss, and the Astartes would be used together to retaliate against these Eldar. What he needed was an opportunity—an opportunity to send the Zerg and the Protoss into the Webway.

After arranging matters with the Blood Ravens, Lucan began to convert the Eldar soul stones he had obtained from them. It had to be said that this large box of soul stones contained quite a few of high quality. The resources converted from them could be stored in the system just like Psy-crystals. Not only the souls of Farseers, but also powerful Eldar who had walked the Path of the Warrior could provide a considerable amount of resources.

The standard for converting an Eldar soul into a Protoss unit was also very direct. The soul of a qualified warrior on the Path of the Warrior could be converted into a standard Protener Templar unit.
