Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 87: Chapter 85: The Fishing Old Man, Shifting the Blame to Tzeentch

"Can I sit in and listen? Although I do know a bit about the Warp, I'd like to hear what another powerful psyker has to say.

"To be honest, I'm often troubled in my dreams by a blue, bird-headed man," added Magnus, standing nearby.

Over the years, Magnus had been exploring the secrets of the Warp himself.

That blue bird-man had even tried to tempt him, offering to solve his gene-son's flesh mutation in exchange for one of Magnus's eyes.

But Magnus never agreed to the deal. After all, it was his own eye at stake, and now that Axis had developed this perfect gene-seed, maybe it could solve his problem.

He didn't need to bother with that blue bird-man any longer.

Axis nodded.

A blue bird-headed man? Who else could that be? Everyone knew that was a certain great Chaos god! His usual catchphrase was "just as planned!"

Judging by the timing, it made sense that Tzeentch was interested in Magnus. The Thousand Sons' gene-mutations might very well have something to do with Tzeentch.

"No problem, wait here a moment while I go get Kasha," said Axis. With that, he left the room and headed for Kasha's quarters.

For the past few days, Axis had been deep in discussion with Magnus, while Kasha had kept to herself, keeping to her room and rarely coming out.

"Kasha, I need your help with something," said Axis, when he found her, "I'd like you to explain everything you know about the Warp to Russ and Magnus."

"???" Kasha looked at Axis in utter disbelief, as if three giant question marks had popped up over her head.

"Axis, have you lost your mind? The Emperor strictly forbade revealing any Warp secrets to the Primarchs," Kasha replied.

Very few in the Imperium knew the true nature of the Warp.

Openly, only the Emperor, Malcador, and a handful of other perpetuals.

The Big E had issued the sternest warnings that under no circumstances should any information about the Warp be shared with them.

The Emperor had assigned Axis to learn this knowledge, but telling anyone else was strictly off-limits!

"To truly understand the horrors of the Warp is the only way to prepare for it. I'm not asking the Primarchs to dabble in the Warp, just to understand the truth about it," Axis argued.

"No way, Axis! I can't do it! If the Emperor ever found out I told them, I'd be thrown back into the dungeons for sure," Kasha immediately shook her head and refused.

Her father always meant what he said.

Last time, her mother had been led astray into making a grave mistake, and Kasha herself became an unwitting accomplice.

She'd always felt guilty about it, and the century she'd been locked up still haunted her.

If she made another mistake, the Emperor would never forgive her, not even give her another chance.

In fact, this was her second chance.

"Trust me, before long, I'll present the Emperor with something so compelling that he'll have no choice but to forgive your past mistakes, he might even publicly acknowledge you as the Imperial Crown Princess," said Axis earnestly, taking Kasha's hand.

"Impossible! You just don't understand the Primarchs and the Emperor at all."

Kasha firmly shook her head, but with her hand in Axis' she hesitated.

She elaborated;

"My mother once had a theory," she started, refusing to meet Axis' gaze, "She believed that the Primarchs actually came from minor gods from the Warp.

"But they weren't actual chaos entities; they were human gods, born from the collective psyche of our species throughout history. Well, with humanity's numbers and psychic strength, it's impossible that we wouldn't have birthed some powerful Warp deities.

"For whatever reason, Father found them…

"Axis, there's a chance that when the Primarchs fully awaken to themselves, they'll return to the Warp."

There were many secrets about the Primarchs, and even Kasha didn't know them all.

But one thing was certain: the Emperor desperately did not want the Primarchs to have any contact with the Warp.

"If that's the case, why don't we just ask the Emperor directly for permission?" Axis suggested.

He was now planning to use his trump card, something new he hadn't shown the old man.

"Are you kidding, Axis? Maybe wait until you're a bit stronger! If you try to contact Father about this now, you'll be finished, and I'll be dragged down with you!" Kasha pleaded.

The headstrong woman he knew wasn't that headstrong in front of her father, after all.

Although her father had never explicitly forbidden her from revealing her true identity to Axis, or from getting closer to him than just friends, she still felt uneasy about it.

And the two cultivated saibaman under Axis's command were even more difficult to explain.

Maybe Axis was planning to use his greenskins as a bargaining chip?

"You'd better keep those greenskins to yourself," Kasha warned.

"Trust me, Kasha. I'm not using them this time. That trick is still something your father mustn't discover," Axis replied.

"Then you need to tell me what you are planning to use. I'll judge if it's actually useful," Kasha said.

"Alright! It's a communications function. I discovered it by accident, as long as there are two scouters on the same planet, they can stay in touch with each other," Axis explained.

"My father has known about that for ages!

"It's just a planet-wide communication system. Did you really think the Imperium of Man didn't have that? Or that they wouldn't've discovered that function form the scoters you provided?

"Our communications can cross entire star systems, even spread across light-years.

"Sometimes, with enough time, it could go even further. The only limit is the speed of light, if you want faster-than-light communication, you need psychic transmission," Kasha replied.

"But what if it's not just a planet? What if you could achieve real-time communication across hundreds, even thousands or tens of thousands of light-years?" Axis pressed.

"???? What kind of joke is that? Your scouter doesn't have that kind of function," Kasha replied, now stunned, second guessing.

"It just needs powerful signal relay stations.

"As long as those exist, scouters could communicate with each other over vast distances. Do you know what that means? Humanity could finally break free from relying on psychic communication!" Axis said.

The Emperor had always dreamed of freeing humanity from the Warp.

Even with his webway project and the success of faster-than-light engines, when it came to communication, the Imperium still had to rely on the Warp.

But if this new system became reality, it could completely cut off humanity's dependence on the Warp for communication.

"Yo—you—you're sure about this? And do you even have blueprints for those special relay stations?" Kasha asked.

"Of course not. But with reverse engineering, I'm sure human science and technology could figure it out," Axis replied.

"I can report this to Father, but anything to do with the Warp is still risky," Kasha said.

"And Axis, don't overestimate those Tech-Priest Sages of the Adeptus Mechanicus—they're a bunch of useless idiots."

Axis cuckled, he pulled her and sat on the side of the bed with Kasha, outlining his plan.

"It's not as big a deal as you think. Here's what we'll do: you deliver this good news to the Emperor first, make him happy. He just found another Primarch, and I saved one as well. With this on top, the Emperor will be in an excellent mood. Then we can sweet talk to him about…."

People in the Warhammer universe really were too rigid; sometimes, speaking was an art.

As Axis explained, Kasha's eyes began to shine.

"That might actually work! I get it now," Kasha said, and immediately sat cross-legged on the bed, activating her psychic powers.

She projected her soul into the Warp to contact the Emperor directly.

Before long, the father and daughter established psychic communication.

The Emperor was indeed in a good mood. He had just found Sanguinius and his Second Primarch was doing well and alive.

"Kasha, is there something you wish to report?" the Emperor asked.

"My Lord Emperor! Axis discovered another function of the scouter," All the previous excitement on Kasha's eyes had now vanished, now replaced with perfect calm as she bowed, and articulated like a well oiled machine, with nigh a hint of emotion, "If enough signal relay stations are established, we could achieve real-time communication throughout the material universe without using the Warp."

Emperor remained silent.

Really! What were those bastard tech priests doing?!

"I never expected the scouter to have this capability," Emperor began, "When I first found its communications function, I thought it only worked within a single planet and didn't put much effort into it. Now that I know this, and have direction to focus on…well done, both of you.

"I'd like to ask how he discovered this to Axis…I guess I'll wait till I see him in person.

"Now, Is there any reward he specifically wants?" the Emperor asked.

This was extremely good news for the Emperor, maybe even better than finding a Primarch.

"Father, serving the Imperium and serving you is my duty," Kasha replied, following Axis's advice to call him "Father" instead of "Emperor."

"I'll remember your merits.

"I'll have Malcador begin further research on these scouters. If this is true and well, this will be extremely important for humanity," the Emperor said.

Axis had read the mood perfectly.

Emperor was, indeed, in high spirits. Although his face and voice didn't show it, Kasha could feel it through their connection.

Now it was time to carry out the most critical part of the plan.

"Father, Axis and I are currently guests on Magnus's sorcerer planet, and Axis has used his Ki to help Magnus resolve the mutation problem in his gene-seed," Kasha said.

"Now that's another Excellent news!" Emperor's spirit was now in an all time high state.

"Magnus was so grateful that he held a banquet for us.

"During the banquet, he revealed a secret to Axis: a blue, feathered, bird-headed man has been harassing him in the Warp recently. In fact, we speculate that, Magnus's gene-seed mutations are connected to this bird-man."

"What?! A blue, feathered, bird-headed man? That damned Tzeentch!" The calm, high spirited Emperor suddenly roared.

...
