When Love and Fire Meet

Chapter 8: The Dragon Awakens

I stiffened and stared at King Robert my blood boiled. "I will not marry Joffery. My father requested that Lord Stark make me a good match. You don't shit about me or my family. Yes, House Drakeion answered the call to war for the Geryjoy Rebellion and helped you silence those raiders."

King Robert rose to his feet. "You should be punished for talking to your king like that child. I should have you hung for speaking out of turn." He looked at Ned. "You need to teach your ward respect for talking to her king, Ned."

There was a roar heard just beyond the walls of Winterfell. I smirked. "You forget. There is a silent guardian who also lives in the North."

"DRAGON!!" Shouts were being heard just outside that keep.

Robert looked at Ned. "You didn't mention that there was a dragon in the North." He glanced at me. "What are you playing at? Dragons died during the reign of the Mad King."

I nodded. "That's true but ever since the Red Comet, magic lives again. If you kill Feiro, I will destroy you."

Robb looked at me seeing the fire in my eyes. He figured out that I had no love for Robert. I grabbed my shoulder hoping his touch would snap me out of this hatred. "Katie, snap out of it. I understand that you have no love for King Robert but please don't let it destroy you. Come back to me."

Robert then understood what Lord Stark was trying to tell him just before Robb and I entered the great hall. "I'm sorry Ned, I didn't realize what was growing between your son and Katherine. In that case how about we arrange a marriage between my son and your eldest daughter?"

Ned nodded. I agree."

Both men rose to their feet and shook hands. Ned took the role has Hand of King. He looked at his young charge noticed the fire in her eyes and understood the hate. Ned had felt that feeling in his youth. Now there was a time of peace although shaky but peace nonetheless.
