Yu-Gi-Oh!: Transformed into a Girl, Starting with Trickstar

Chapter 12: TST [12]

Hearing Morgan's words, Isla froze, her cheeks flushing red.

But the moment she caught sight of Morgan's teasing expression, she immediately realized she'd misunderstood.

"Hmph! As long as you can't destroy my Gungnir, no matter what monster you summon this turn, it won't matter!"

Gungnir's effect could be activated once per turn. That meant next turn, Isla could again discard cards to destroy Morgan's cards on the field.

However, just then, a strange sensation passed over Isla—the shadow of Gungnir, which had been looming over her, abruptly vanished, and with it, the Speaker for the Ice Barriers.

"Eh? My Gungnir... What is that thing?!"

In an instant, Isla felt searing heat on her skin, making it hard to breathe.

She was suddenly trapped inside an iron cage, and behind her stood a massive humanoid figure radiating molten lava.

"I activate Lava Golem's effect! Tribute 2 monsters on your opponent's field to Special Summon this card to their field from my hand."

"And during each of their Standby Phases, they take 1000 damage!"

"But the turn this card is summoned, I can't perform a Normal Summon."

Morgan grinned. Lava Golem was one of the cards she'd exchanged Duel Points for through the system—a versatile board-breaking card from her previous life.

In that past world, what was terrifying wasn't the endless combo-building.

It was when your opponent didn't surrender after they finished their combo.

Then, congratulations, you built your board for nothing.

Either you became gourmet food for Sea Turtle Kaiju, or all those wishes became a giant egg.

"What?! I take 1000 damage during the Standby Phase?!"

Upon realizing Lava Golem's effect, Isla's expression twisted.

With only 8000 LP, she would need to end the duel in eight turns or find a way to remove the monster.

That said, when she saw Lava Golem's 3000 Attack Points, a mocking smile formed on her lips.

"Morgan, are you insane? Summoning a 3000 ATK monster to my field? Even if I take 1000 damage per turn, you'll lose long before I do!"

Jade also grew tense.

Truthfully, she didn't understand why Morgan would willingly give away such a powerful monster.

Just as Isla said, with no monsters on Morgan's field, she would be the one bleeding LP faster.

Yet Morgan didn't reply to Isla's taunt.

She crouched low, her petite form expertly maneuvering the Duel Skateboard to glide behind Isla.

Her amber eyes fixated on the elegant curve of Isla's back. Her pleated gray skirt fluttered in the wind, revealing flashes of her pale legs.

Since she couldn't Normal Summon this turn, Morgan simply set the rest of her hand and ended her turn.

"I set three cards. Turn end!"

'Another set?'

Isla sensed something different about Morgan. In the past, even when Morgan set cards, they never felt threatening. Though now, the aura from those face-downs was distinctly dangerous.

What was Morgan planning?

Isla couldn't figure it out and decided to put it aside for now as she began her turn.

"My turn, draw!"

The moment she drew, Lava Golem's effect activated.

Scorching magma flowed through the bars of the iron cage and onto Isla's skin.

"Ngh..."

The virtual simulation felt all too real, and Isla let out a pained moan.

As she gritted her teeth and endured the burning, preparing to counterattack, she remained unaware that Morgan's chain was only just beginning.

Two of Morgan's set cards flipped up—one a Trap, the other a Quick-Play Spell.

"I activate the Trap Card, Ring of Destruction!"

In a flash, an iron collar lined with explosives locked around Lava Golem's neck.

"Destroy 1 monster on the field, and both players take damage equal to its ATK!"

"What?!"

Isla was stunned.

BOOM!!

The collar exploded violently. Lava Golem shattered into molten shards.

Thick lava splattered across Isla's body, dealing a whopping 3000 points of damage.

Combined with Lava Golem's burn effect, her LP was instantly halved.

LP fluctuation affected Duel Skateboard speed—Isla wobbled as her board slowed significantly, allowing Morgan to overtake her with ease.

"Mutual destruction? I can't believe you thought of that... Wait! Why didn't your Life Points decrease?!"

Hearing Isla's shout, Morgan turned her board sideways, locking eyes with her as she drifted ahead.

At the same time, the other flipped card was revealed to Isla.

Her pupils shrank.

"Quick-Play Spell, Ring of Defense!"

"Reduce all damage from a Trap Card effect to 0!"
